Hey guys. I’m Ellie, but most of you know me as Maria-mun (wasthatnotprocedure).
As some of you know, my sister Noreen is in the end stages of breast cancer. That’s me and her up there in that picture. I’m the baby by eighteen years, actually. She’s the next youngest in my line of five siblings. They’re telling us three weeks right now (it could be longer, of course). Unfortunately, we live thousands of miles apart; me in Florida, her in Massachusetts. I haven’t seen her in over three years, and I’d like to see her again at least once before she passes away so I can tell her in person how much I love her.
I’ve saved up a little bit of money, as much as I can, but it’s not enough to cover travel costs. Both my parents are on social security disability and I make close to minimum wage. My mother just had surgery on Friday. I can’t even move out of my parents’ house right now and there’s no way I can afford a short-notice plane ticket.
I hate asking for money, even if it’s just a dollar for a toll booth or something, but I’m extremely desperate and I’m hoping you guys, you lovely people, will be able to help me out. Every little bit helps, even if it’s just a couple of cents. Here is the link to offer donations. If you have any questions or doubts, please, send me an ask and I will do my best to show you I’m being honest with you guys and that this money will not be used for anything else.
Thank you for listening, and I’m really sorry to ask for this. I’m just crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to get up to Boston in time to say goodbye.
I love you all.
